TEST SHOT FOR FOOD

1.  So here is the first test shot for a cinnamon roll and a cup of coffee.  The mirror on the coffee cup is to help align the top light to properly reflect in the coffee when it is poured, fresh, into the cup.

The shot is with a Canon 5D, 85mm f1.8 lens at f16 using a makeshift light bank.

2.  The fork has had some tape put under it to very slightly increase its angle to the camera.  The burlap was raised behind the items with a flag and scrims to darken it compared to food items. And a reflector was placed in front to put some light back into the shadow and help round out the cup.  The coffee was then poured and several shots taken as the froth and bubbles subsided.  This was exposure 3.  It is ready for retouching.
3.  Here is the final version ready for type and copy.

The tape holding the fork has been retouched away, the light reflection in the cup has been lightened, the overall shot has had contrast slightly increased along with some burning and dodging to enhance the glazing to make it look a little fresher.

The background burlap was burned down and slightly blurred to simulate a shallower depth of field.

Can you spot the other major retouching change?
